The Gravity Series 1150 with the extras you need on day one: a fitted rain cover, a 7 kg bag of Masterbuilt lumpwood charcoal and firelighters. The grill itself is a gravity-fed charcoal cooker, which means the hopper feeds fuel down to the fire under its own weight while a digital fan controls the burn rate.

That combination gives charcoal flavour with digital temperature control from 107 to 371 degrees Celsius, so the same machine does an overnight brisket and a hard sear. The hopper holds 5.5 kg of lump charcoal or 8.1 kg of briquettes, up to fifteen hours of use. Cooking space is 1,150 square inches, enough for 50 burgers, 19 chickens or 12 racks of ribs. Wi-Fi and the Masterbuilt app handle temperature setting, session graphing and meat probes. Ceramic firebox inserts and vitreous enamel-coated charcoal grates.
